Black, green and other dark spots start appearing all over the carpet. The area underneath your carpet discolors before the surface does, thus it’s a good idea to look underneath the carpet.  

How to Remove Mold from Your Carpet 

There are several DIY (Do It Yourself) methods to remove or prevent mold in your carpets. It is important to remember that mold can be toxic, hence you should prepare yourself well before attempting to clean the carpet. Glasses, a mask, and gloves will come handy. 

The most basic method is to use water and dishwashing detergent to clean the carpet. You can also use water and bleach solution.
